Semaglutide physicians

A guide to checking care

Name the semaglutide prescriber

Get a name you can check.

A friendly page is not a licence record. First, find out who will assess your health.

A checkable name beats a badge.

Ask who makes the decision

Ask for the clinician’s full name and role before paying for care. Clinician means a health professional who reviews your health.

If you asked for a doctor, ask whether the appointment is with a doctor. Keep the answer with your notes.

Ask it plainly

Who will review my health and make the prescribing decision?

Check the state where you will be

During the visit, the physician needs a licence or another form of permission to practise in the patient’s location. That is what federal health guidance said when checked September 26, 2026.

State rules can allow exceptions; the medical boards’ policy is guidance, rather than a national licensing law.

Give the service your location for the visit. Ask which permission covers that location.

Ask it plainly

What allows this person to treat me in that state?

Use the board’s record

State medical boards publish doctors’ licences and public disciplinary action, meaning action the board took against a doctor.

Some states use more than one board to license doctors.

Ask the doctor which board issued their licence. Use that board’s record to check the name you were given.

Even if the record shows no public action, it cannot predict the quality of care you will receive.

Check that the record names the same person the service named. Keep any questions that the record leaves open.
